If you look at that page, you will find "Connector for particulate matter (PM) sensor (available separately)". Your daughter will need to look at the specs for that and determine if it needs to be purchased. The Enviro Sensor Hat + Air Quality is from Pimoroni/University of Sheffield. Their description says:https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/envi ... 5658457171Fully-assembled
Compatible with all 40-pin header Raspberry Pi models
Have you gone through the Getting Started documentation https://learn.pimoroni.com/article/gett ... nviro-plus? Yes, it can be confusing if you are not familiar with GITHUB and basic RP/Linux command lines.
Maybe where you and your daughter should start is just with the RPI 5 then work up to using the HAT. Have a look at Getting Started with Raspberry PI at https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pro ... g-started
