AIUI that release of Bookworm 32bit should run on all Pi models (though with a 64bit kernel on some) and default to Wayland with labwc.
You can change that via raspi-config if you wish (look under Advanced options).
Personally, I've not tried it on my oldest Pi yet but with nothing to lose but a little time why not given it a try on a fresh/spare SD card and report back?
There's always Bullseye which defaults to X11 and is still (at least partially) supported as RPiOS Legacy.
Oh, and quoting the kernel version as the OS version isn't really sensible or helpful. Kernel version can, does, and has changed within the same named release.
