The latest update brought in labwc for Wayland, and switched away from Wayfire but somehow and for some reason you decided not you use Wayland but the old X11 setup. You must have decided to do that at some point to use lxde.
When I bought my raspberry pi I bought it from the official store with a microsd preloaded with the Pi OS for easy of quick use.

Starting to think that wasn't smart.

My primary goal is to use the entire thing in a CRT case I designed as a monitor that just sits there and plays TV automatically. I got it working exactly how I wanted before realizing I wasn't using any of the best current practice work. Stuff like quiet boot loading into custom splash, auto starts shows etc, got a GPIO 3.5" spi screen working (fairly) well except for a bit of screen tearing.. so it's hard to convince myself to start over with a new image hoping all these weird niche things can work well for me.

If I could figure out that I could remove fullscreen screen tearing from this by moving over I'd consider, but the research I do just never seems particularly convincing. Struggling to choose what to do!
