How is it that no one knows how to get a simple video output to work? Every damn bit of documentation online is WRONG!
WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!
IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!
For the love of almighty, HOW DO I GET A BLOODY VIDEO SIGNAL OUT THE VIDEO OUTPUT!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
<yawn>Well, it took a bit of digging, but I eventually found a post that referenced a line in the config file being:
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,composite
In mine, it was dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
I had to add the ,composite to the end.
Why do y'all insist on having so many different config settings for the same thing, but only 1 that actually works, and never including that one crucial one in the answers?
Documentation for all these things ABSOLUTELY SUCK!!!!
I do not know how in the bloody hell anyone expects one to reasonably figure that out!
Do better!
Raspbian isn't really a thing around here.I stated rather clearly Raspbian. One could respond with the assumption that it's updated to the latest version, or state that assumption in a response, or suggest ensuring my Raspbian installation has the latest updates and is current with their response, rather than playing dumb like this.Perhaps, if you tell us exactly what OS and version. People would be more inclined to help?
However, I did figure it out, and posted the hidden setting that most other posts about the topic seem to neglect.
Either give me solid factual information or I don't bother commenting. I have better things to do with my time than assume or guess things because someone who needs help can't be bothered to be clear about the very thing they need help with.
