Hi, I think I can try to help you with the PID, do you have the plant of the system, or are you treating it as a black box system? As these will change the way you can calculate the KP KI KD values for the control, or you could also get them by trial and error, but these is the most time consuming of the 3 options.

This is going to be trial and error and i dont expect it to be perfect at any point in time, its replacing an old analog system that has let out the magic smoke and hasnt been in production for 30 years LOL

The PID will require some amount of tuning on a "day to day" basis regardless as the system reacts completely different depending on the ambient conditions, grain temperature coming in, grain moisture coming in and the type of grain as well as the burner temperature. Basically im expecting to have to operate it just like the old system where it is run manually for a couple hours to get it "levelled out", then while on automation it it only expected to make small changes to account for slight changes in environment variables, nothing drastic. As with the old system, the moisture content at the discharge is only based off of the grain temperature before the cooling stage which has actually proven to be pretty accurate unless their are large changes in the environment variables
