Note that there are system_backup.sh and system_restore.sh scripts in that repo. system_backup.sh appears to be run automatically as part of the *-show scripts. Backup files get dropped in a directory .system_backup, probably under your LCD-show directory ("ls -a" to include files/directories starting with a .)
I expect that it has removed the dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d line from /boot/firmware/config.txt. Without that you're using the legacy display stack, and audio had to be enabled separately (dtparam=audio=on).
Reinstate that line if missing and hopefully you'll get audio back.
