I think "spi_default" defaults to "spi0", but yesterday evening, I noticed the same - and to be sure, edited all cases to be explicitly "spi0".
The printed pin numbers remained the same, and behaviour also remained.
I'm doing a new experiment this evening to triple-check everything on the Pico side.
